FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What is Window Film?

A micro-thin polyester material, which gives you plenty of sunlight with less of the sun's heat and UV rays. Applied to the interior of your windows, the film is an invisible "solar shield" that can reject over 80% of the sun's heat. In summer, your home is cooler and more comfortable, so you save on energy bills. In winter, films contain heat for year round comfort.

Q: How are window films applied?

The films are applied using a low impact installation, which consists of a mild, soapy solution that contains no harsh chemicals, and is environmentally safe.

Q: Is the window film difficult to clean?

Not at all.  After the film is installed to your glass, you can continue to clean them as usual-no special cleaning products are required.  A soft non-abrasive cloth and standard household window cleaner is best.

Q: How long will the film last?

All of the film Intints uses are guaranteed for as long as you own your home. The warranty includes both labor and materials.

Q: Will applying a window film make my windows safer?

Yes. If the glass were to ever break for any reason, the film will help keep broken shards in place, making them less of a danger.  Intints also offers films that are specially designed for safety.  These films mitigate the dangers of broken glass-from tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, and bomb blast, to an errant baseball or golf swing.

Q: What can the film do for UV? Will it protect my furnishings from fading and sun damage?

All the films offered by Intints will stop more than 99% of harmful UV light from entering your home and doing damage to your furniture, artwork, and flooring.  These films can actually add years to the life of the interior in your home or office.

Q: Will the film make my windows or rooms darker?

Clear or shaded - its all up to you. Intints has a wide range of options, from virtually transparent to rich warm tones.  Advanced technology allows window film to block a great deal of solar heat without sacrificing the light.  In fact, many films are almost undetectable after installation.

Q: Can my utility bills be helped with window film?

Yes. Installing a window film can significantly reduce the amount of Infrared Radiation entering through your windows, lowering the amount of heat that enters your home and thereby reducing energy costs.

Q: Is window film safe for dual pane or insulated low-e glass windows?

Intints entire line of films are thermal safe, and made specifically for these type of windows.

Q: How much of an expense is it to film my windows?

No. The average installation cost less than most window treatments, all with much of the same benefits.  In fact, your window film will return your investment quickly through reduced utility cost and energy savings.
